About Photo Frame Guide
Last updated October 22, 2026
Photo Frame Guide helps you pick a digital photo frame to give to someone you love. We compare frames on the things that matter for a gift: how easy it is for the person receiving it, how the family sends photos, the screen, and what it really costs over time.
Who runs this site
Photo Frame Guide is run by Sanja, a digital marketer who has spent years working with online marketplaces and the people who buy from them. We are independent: no frame brand owns us, pays for a spot on our list, or sees our reviews before they go live.
How we score
Every frame gets a score out of 10, from four criteria with fixed weights:
- Easy for the recipient (40%). Can it be set up before it's given? Does the recipient need a smartphone? Is there a touchscreen? What happens when the Wi-Fi drops?
- Sending photos (20%). How many ways the family can send photos, and whether that's free.
- Screen and picture quality (20%). Resolution, size, glare, and whether the frame stands upright and sideways.
- Total cost (20%). The price plus any subscription over two years.
What our scores are based on. We haven't tested every frame hands-on yet. Today, our scores come from each brand's product pages and help center, independent reviews, and patterns in customer reviews. We list our sources on the comparison page. When we test a frame ourselves, we'll say so on that frame's review.
How we keep prices current
Prices and plans change often, especially around the holidays. We check them regularly and show the date of our last check next to the comparison table. If you spot something out of date, please tell us.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the store pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions differ from brand to brand, and that never changes a score or a rank. We also list good frames we earn nothing from. Read our full affiliate disclosure.
